What is
General Conference?
The Congregational Holiness Church is governed by its members, including licensed and ordained ministers as well as lay members from each local church. Together, they form the General Conference, which serves as the denomination’s governing body. Every four years, each local church can send their pastor, spouse, and selected lay delegates to represent them at the General Conference. During this event, they vote on various issues and leadership roles. The General Conference is the most significant gathering for the denomination, drawing delegates from around the world and allowing them to connect with their broader church family. The three-day event includes powerful worship, renowned speakers, and the important business of overseeing the denomination.

FAQ
What is General Conference?
The General Conference is the most significant gathering of the Congregational Holiness Church (CHC). It serves as the governing body of our denomination, bringing together lay members, licensed ministers, and ordained ministers from churches worldwide.
Every four years, each local church has the opportunity to send their pastor, their pastor’s spouse, and select lay delegates to represent their congregation. These delegates have a vital role in voting on key issues, electing leadership, and shaping the future of our denomination.
Beyond the important business sessions, General Conference is a time of powerful worship, dynamic preaching, and fellowship with our global church family. Attendees will experience three days of anointed worship services, internationally known speakers, and essential discussions that guide the direction of the CHC.
📍 The 36th General Conference of the CHC will take place on June 11-13, 2025, at The Jefferson Church (21 Cobb Street, Jefferson, GA 30549).
🕑 The first session begins Wednesday, June 11, at 2:00 PM, and the conference will conclude on Friday, June 13, at noon.
We encourage every CHC member to be part of this incredible event—a time of spiritual renewal, connection, and decision-making that impacts the future of our denomination!
Who can attend?
General Conference is open to everyone in the CHC family! Whether you’re a pastor, church member, or simply interested in being part of this important gathering, you are welcome to attend.
✅ Business Sessions – These sessions are open for anyone to observe, but only delegates (voting members) may sit in designated areas and actively participate in discussions and voting.
✅ Nightly Worship Services – Everyone is encouraged to join us for powerful worship and dynamic preaching each evening. These services are a highlight of General Conference, bringing our church family together in unity and spiritual renewal.
Even if you’re not a voting delegate, attending General Conference is a great way to experience the heart of our denomination, connect with fellow believers, and witness important decisions that shape the future of the CHC. We’d love to see you there!
Who can vote?
Voting at General Conference is a privilege and responsibility given to designated delegates who represent the churches, districts, and ministries of the Congregational Holiness Church (CHC). These delegates are entrusted with making key decisions that guide the future of our denomination.

How should I dress?
We want everyone to feel comfortable and welcome at General Conference! While there is no strict dress code, here’s a general guideline on what to wear for different parts of the event:
👔 Business Sessions (Daytime Meetings)
Most attendees choose to wear business attire for these sessions, as they involve official church governance and decision-making.
•Men: Dress pants, collared shirts (button-up or polo), and dress shoes. Many will wear a suit or a blazer, but it’s not required.
•Women: Dresses, skirts, or dress pants with a blouse, sweater, or blazer. Dress shoes or flats are common.
Dressing professionally helps maintain a respectful and focused atmosphere during these important sessions.
🙏 Night Services (Worship Gatherings)
Evening worship services are a time of spiritual renewal and fellowship, so church attire is appropriate.
•Some attendees prefer to wear suits or dresses, while others feel comfortable in jeans and a nice shirt.
•Whether you dress formally or casually, the most important thing is that you are here, worshipping together!
No matter what you wear, we’re excited for you to be part of this incredible gathering of the CHC family!
Does it cost anything?
No! General Conference is completely free to attend and participate in. There are no registration fees for the event, so everyone is welcome to join us for the business sessions, worship services, and fellowship.
However, throughout the conference, there will be several vendors and ministry partners offering books, apparel, resources, and other items. While purchasing from them is completely optional, we encourage you to support them as they provide valuable materials for ministry and personal growth.
We look forward to seeing you there—come ready to be encouraged, equipped, and connected with the CHC family!
